The result of our investment is plain to see. Apart from 44 hotels and 44 Pousadas de Portugal (a total of 88 properties in all), the Pestana Group also owns 12 timeshare complexes, 6 fully-operational golf courses, 3 tourism real estate properties, the gaming concessions for the islands of Madeira (Madeira Casino) and São Tomé e Principe (São Tomé Casino), and has part ownership of a charter airline and in 1 tour operator.
On the 1st of September 2003, the Pestana Group took on the management and destinations of Pousadas de Portugal. The inclusion of this second hotel brand under the Pestana umbrella represented an added responsibility and reinforcement of our commitment towards quality tourism in Portugal.
