PRESENTATION
The Pinta Course is one of the best-designed courses in Europe. It is a Championship course with an exceptional layout designed by the famous American golf course architect, Ronald Fream, and inaugurated in 1992. It has earned a deserved reputation for the outstanding level of maintenance of the course, and its design, which makes it a challenge to golfers of all standards.
The fairways are Bermuda grass, while strategically positioned sand bunkers protect the greens, clad in Pen Cross Bent, and two ornamental lakes influence play at four different holes around the course.
The rolling terrain is dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees, some of which are more than 600 years old, and a very special feature of this course is one olive tree that dates back more than 1200 years.
The dogleg trajectory for all the par 4 and 5 holes emphasises the need for skilful driving. The size of the greens is specifically matched to the length of the approach shot.
The course is 6,115 metres in length and is a par 71. It is certain to be appreciated by experienced golfers, for whom a round on this course will provide genuine excitement and a memorable and enjoyable day's play.

ACADEMY
The prestigious David Leadbetter Golf Academy is considered the best worldwide, its theories and teaching methods have revolutionised the concept of the game and its influence on golf at all levels is undeniable.
The fact that Carvoeiro Golf has a David Leadbetter Academy is in itself an enormous advantage, as it is the only golf course in Portugal to have one.
David Leadbetter, one of the worlds most famous teachers of golf, himself personally trains all the instructors of these academies. The classes take place on training tees specially constructed for this purpose, with 6 target greens and a chipping area, bunker and putting green.
We can also cite such names as Nick Price, Nick Faldo, David Frost, Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, Florence Descampe, Terry Jo Myers and many others who are, or have been, great golf champions and who have been coached by David Leadbetter at some stage of their career.
During the design and construction of these two magnificent golf courses - the Pinto Course and the Gramacho Course - the course architect Ronald Fream, together with Nick Price (one of the world's best-know players whose consultancy and course-design involvement with the Pestana Group has exceeded original expectations) have succeeded in achieving the almost impossible task of blending in the pronounced undulation that creates the natural beauty and artistry of the fairways, flanked by ancient olive trees, some of which are over six hundred years old.

CLUB HOUSE
In the splendid Club House and Restaurant/Bar, with a capacity to seat 100 persons, a vast selection of dishes is served. During the day we recommend the range of snacks, salads and light meals that will tempt the palate of any golfer.
In the evening, elegant dinners are served in a perfect atmosphere, ideal for couple or small group dining. At reception you will find an extensive range of clothing from the most prestigious golfing brand names, both with and without the golf course logos.
