The Pestana Group is currently completing a restructuring both of its company and its commercial structure.
The growth dynamic shown by the Pestana Group in recent years in various different areas of business and in different geographical areas, and the family character of its shareholding, has necessitated a process of re-structuring. This process is now in its final phase and has been aimed at:
- Rationalisation and organisation of the Group in relation to the different geographical areas of its operation, the different types of business, and the different evolution envisaged for each area;
- Concentrating activities in each company within the Group in order to comprise an autonomous operation. This applies both to presently existing companies and those envisaged for the future, and involves dividing and segmenting the different operations currently carried out;
- Simplification of the company and shareholder structure of the Group;
- Obtaining further economic, financial and commercial efficiencies in the commercial structure, optimising the Group's assets and the services it provides;
- Increasing flexibility in the Group structure, considering both the potential for development in the existing businesses and the strategic investments already defined;
- Definition of a global finance policy for the Group;
- Definition of a policy of partnership for the Group with strategic and financial investors.
In respect of this, a Holding Company - Grupo Pestana SGPS - has been formed that will have majority control over 2 sub-holdings representing the segmentation of the different areas of the Group's business. These are: Pestana Turismo (which includes all the Group's holdings in the tourism and leisure sector) and Pestana Investimentos (which includes all the Group's other investments).
