The lodge’s restaurant and bar are also right on the beach, allowing guests to enjoy their meal or drink in a heavenly setting with a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean.

Twilight then turns into night, and the beautiful starry skies of the southern hemisphere are yet another visual wonder.
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is on the northern end of the island, about 65 km north of Vilankulo and 35 km east of Inhassoro, towns in Inhambane Province. Vilankulo has an international airport with regular flights from Johannesburg and Maputo. The most recommended transfer from Vilankulo to the island is by helicopter, a 20-minute trip with stunning views of the sea and the island. Another option is a boat transfer, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Vilankulo or 45 minutes from Inhassoro.
