Where to stay in the United States
The United States is located in North America, from coast to coast between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and forms one of the largest countries in the world, with 50 states of enormous diversity. It is known for its cosmopolitan and multicultural character, for iconic cities such as New York (Times Square, Empire State Building, Central Park) and for the contrasts between regions: the urban Northeast, the subtropical beaches of Florida (Miami) and the famous theme parks of Orlando. The Pestana Group has a presence in three of its most sought-after cities - New York, Orlando and Miami.
The Pestana Group has four hotels in the USA, in three cities. In New York, in Manhattan: the Pestana CR7 Times Square (a few minutes' walk from Times Square and the Empire State Building) and the Pestana Park Avenue. In Miami, the Pestana South Beach Miami, a boutique Art Deco hotel next to Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road, near South Beach. In Orlando, the Pestana Orlando Suites Lake Buena Vista, with spacious suites (some for up to 6 people), ideal for families, approximately 15 minutes from the major theme parks (Disney and Universal).
Because it is a vast territory, the climate varies greatly from region to region, so it is worth visiting throughout the year, adapting the destination to the season. In the Northeast (New York), spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the most pleasant times, with cold winters and hot, humid summers. In Florida, with a subtropical climate, winter (December to February/March) is the most popular time in Miami, avoiding the heat and hurricane season (June to November). Orlando is visitable all year round, with spring and autumn offering less heat and crowds.
From Portugal, the most common way is by plane, with direct and connecting flights. New York is served by three major airports: JFK (the main international hub), EWR (Newark, New Jersey), and LGA (LaGuardia, more domestic). For Miami, the reference airport is MIA, next to the Pestana South Beach Miami. For Orlando and its parks, MCO, near Lake Buena Vista, where the Pestana Orlando Suites is located. These airports are connected by numerous domestic flights (NY-Florida in approximately 2h30 to 3h).
n New York: Times Square, the Empire State Building, Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, the museums and theaters of Broadway - just minutes from the Pestana CR7 Times Square and the Pestana Park Avenue. In Miami: the beaches of South Beach, the Art Deco architecture of Ocean Drive, the urban art, the nightlife and Lincoln Road, next to the Pestana South Beach Miami. In Orlando: the world-famous theme parks - Walt Disney World and Universal Studios - ideal for families, near the Pestana Orlando Suites Lake Buena Vista.
Due to the size of the country, travel between cities is mainly done by plane, thanks to the dense network of domestic flights (JFK/EWR/LGA in NY, MIA in Miami, MCO in Orlando). Within each destination it varies: in New York, the most practical is the subway, with buses, taxis and walking in Manhattan. In Florida, on the other hand, a rental car is the most convenient, both in Miami and especially in Orlando, where parks and hotels (such as the Pestana Orlando Suites) are spread over a wide area.
