Our hotels in Marrakesh
Marrakech is located in south-central Morocco, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, and is one of the four imperial cities. It is known as the "red city" because of the ochre hue of its adobe walls and buildings. Its heart is the medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where you'll find the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna square, with storytellers, musicians, and food stalls at nightfall. It is famous for its souks, exotic gardens, and monuments such as the Koutoubia Mosque. The Pestana CR7 Marrakech, in Hivernage, is a good base.
In Marrakech, Pestana is represented by the Pestana CR7 Marrakech, a lifestyle hotel in the Hivernage district, on M Avenue (Av. de la Ménara), just minutes from the historic center. It combines contemporary design with Moroccan touches and stands out for its rooftop with a swimming pool and 360° views over the city, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Atlas Mountains. It also has a spa, gym, the Mesa restaurant, and the Inverse by CR7 sports bar, with 174 rooms.
The best times are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), with mild weather to explore the medina, gardens and surrounding areas. In spring, temperatures are around 20-25 °C and in autumn 24-30 °C. Summer (June to August) is extremely hot (it can exceed 40 °C), so it is advisable to take advantage of covered spaces and the rooftop/pool of the Pestana CR7 Marrakech during the hottest hours. Winter is mild during the day (12-20 °C) and cooler at night.
The most practical way is by plane, through Marrakech-Menara International Airport (RAK), about 6 km from the city center and connected to several European capitals, including Lisbon and Porto. From the airport, the journey to the center takes a few minutes by taxi or bus. The Pestana CR7 Marrakech, in Hivernage, is only about 5 km from Menara, making arrival and departure convenient.
Jemaa el-Fna square, the heart of the UNESCO-listed medina with artists and food stalls; the traditional souks (spices, carpets, handicrafts); the Jardin Majorelle, an oasis of blue hues once owned by Yves Saint Laurent; the sumptuous Bahia Palace; and the Koutoubia Mosque, whose minaret dominates the city. Also worth visiting are the Saadian Tombs, the El Badi Palace, and the Menara Gardens. From the Pestana CR7 Marrakech, many attractions are just a short drive away.
In the medina, walking is best, as the narrow streets of the souks are not accessible by car. For longer distances, the "petits taxis" (beige) are economical for urban journeys, while a car with a driver is ideal for excursions to the Atlas Mountains or the desert. There are also tourist buses. The Pestana CR7 Marrakech, in Hivernage, is close to boutiques and cafes and a short drive from Jemaa el-Fna and the Jardin Majorelle.
