Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is on the northern end of the island, about 65 km north of Vilankulo and 35 km east of Inhassoro, towns in Inhambane Province. Vilankulo has an international airport with regular flights from Johannesburg and Maputo. The most recommended transfer from Vilankulo to the island is by helicopter, a 20-minute trip with stunning views of the sea and the island. Another option is a boat transfer, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Vilankulo or 45 minutes from Inhassoro.
