FAQs
Where is Casablanca located and why is it known?

Casablanca is located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco and is the country's largest city and its main economic and port center. It is known for the imposing Hassan II Mosque, built over the ocean and one of the largest in the world (minaret approximately 200 m high); for the Art Deco heritage of the city center (boulevards and buildings from the 1920s-30s); for the Corniche by the sea and for the traditional Habous neighborhood. The Pestana Casablanca hotel is integrated into this coastal setting, in the Anfa Place complex, on the Corniche.

Which Pestana hotels are there in Casablanca?

In Casablanca, the Pestana Group has the Pestana Casablanca, a 4-star "Seaside Suites & Residences" hotel with 79 suites and spacious balconies, integrated into the Anfa Place Living Resort complex on Boulevard de la Corniche (Ain Diab neighborhood). It is located directly on the Corniche, with access to the beach and the AnfaPlace Mall, about 10 minutes from the city center and close to the Hassan II Mosque.

What is the best time to visit Casablanca?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times, with a mild Atlantic coastal climate and less heat than inland. Summer is hot but tempered by the sea breeze, ideal for Ain Diab beach and the Corniche; winter is mild but more humid. The Pestana Casablanca's location on the Corniche takes advantage of this breeze almost all year round.

How to get to Casablanca?

The gateway is Mohammed V International Airport (CMN), about 30 km from the city center. The most convenient option is the direct ONCF train from the lower level of the airport to the city (Casa-Port and Casa-Voyageurs stations) in about 40 minutes. There are also taxis and buses. Casablanca is well connected by high-speed train to Rabat, Tangier, Fez, and Marrakech. The Pestana Casablanca hotel has easy access to the airport.

What to visit in Casablanca?

The highlight is the Hassan II Mosque, built over the ocean and open for guided tours. It's worth strolling along the Corniche and Ain Diab beach, exploring the Habous district (a 1930s medina with markets and pastry shops), admiring the Art Deco architecture and boulevards of the city center, and visiting Mohammed V Square and the Arab League Park. The Pestana Casablanca, on the Corniche, is a convenient starting point for the waterfront and the Mosque.

How do I get around in Casablanca?

Casablanca has a modern transport network, notably the tramway, which serves neighborhoods such as Centro, Gauthier, Maarif, Anfa and the Corniche. There are also taxis (the urban "petits taxis" and the "grands taxis" for longer distances), buses and car rental, useful for the Corniche and Ain Diab. From the Pestana Casablanca, the city center is about 10 minutes away.
